Chemical Feed Pump Calibration Calculator – Drawdown Test

Chemical Feed Pump Calibration

Drawdown test: measure what the pump actually delivers, compare against the target dose, and get a pass/fail verdict.

Formulas
Pump rate: mL/min = mL ÷ min · gpd = mL/min × 1440 ÷ 3785 · gph = gpd ÷ 24
Solution (lb/gal) = strength × 8.34 × SG
Actual dose (mg/L) = pump (gpd) × solution (lb/gal) ÷ [plant flow (MGD) × 8.34]
Required pump (gpd) = target dose × plant flow (MGD) × 8.34 ÷ solution (lb/gal)
Deviation % = (actual − required) ÷ required × 100 — recalibrate if beyond ±10%.
For educational and operational-guidance purposes. Follow your state health department’s calibration worksheet procedure.
